Renting

  1. Browse through our curated selection of dresses and select the dress that makes you feel the most special.
  2. Reserve your dress by selecting the dates you need it for.
  3. Your dress will arrive at least two (2) days prior to your photo shoot. 
  4. Have fun at your photo shoot and make your memories golden!
  5. Remove any sand, dust, and/or hair from your dress and spot clean, if needed.
  6. Package the dress and affix the prepaid return shipping label and drop off at the appropriate shipping provider the day after your reserved end date.

Absolutely! Use the reservation calendar on the specific dress and select the number of days you’ll need it for. If you are traveling, we suggest selecting two days before you depart through the day you return. Each additional day will cost $50.

Our gowns are perfect for engagement, maternity, and other styled shoots. Events that cause wear and tear (engagement parties and/or weddings) are not allowed. Gowns are not to be used next to smoke and/or smoke bombs as this will create an odor and/or stains on the gowns.

If you need to reschedule, you must request reschedule no later than twenty (20) days before the rental start date as this will allow another person time to rent the gown. If the request is granted, the rental fee will be applied to a mutually agreed upon rescheduled date. If rescheduling occurs less than twenty (20) days, a rescheduling fee of $25 will be imposed. 

Should you find that you need to cancel your rental reservation, please send us an email at poppygowns@gmail.com or DM us on Instagram @poppygowns. Cancellation requests must be made no later than twenty (20) days before your rental start date to allow another to rent the dress.

We will issue a credit for the full rental fee of the item(s) minus shipping charges for a future rental by you of our item(s). If you prefer a refund instead of a credit, then 50% will be refunded. 

Reschedule and/or cancellation requests after a dress has been shipped will be charged the full amount of the rental.

Sizing

Each dress will have its specific sizing listed in the dress description. Most dresses come in either a robe or corset lace-back style which allows for adjustable sizing that will fit multiple sizes. The robe style with the adjustable waist tie typically fits sizes XS-XXL and the corset lace-back style that will fit sizes 2-14.

Trying on a dress would be considered the same as a regular rental as this requires the same amount of rental time. You are more than welcome to rent any dress for a try-on period.

Our dresses are made to be oversized and flowy. For shorter persons, just be careful not to step on the excess length, but don’t worry – the extra length adds fluffiness and photographs beautifully. If you’re taller, the dresses fits heights up to 5’10-5’11 and still provides extra length.

Shipping

Not only is the cost of shipping to you free, we also include a prepaid return shipping label that’s included. 

Please make sure to keep all packaging necessary to return your dress. Properly package the dress, affix the included prepaid shipping label, and drop off at the appropriate shipping provider.

Once your shoot is complete, please clean, package, and drop off your dress the day after your shoot.

At the moment, we only ship our dresses within the United States.

This is very uncommon, but in the unfortunate event your dress does get lost or arrives late, please send us a DM on Instagram @poppygowns or an email at poppygowns@gmail.com. We will not refund any order due to late arrival out of our control. We do ship early to arrive at least two (2) shipping days before your photoshoot. If delivered late, and you are unable to postpone your shoot, will give you a credit for a future rental.

If you are delayed in returning the dress, we will invoice you $50/day for each day it is delayed as this take away the possibility for someone else to rent the dress.

Cleaning

The cleaning retainer is a refundable deposit that we collect. When the dress is returned and in clean and undamaged condition, this fee will be refunded in full. However, if the dress is returned dirty and/or damaged, the cleaning and/or repair costs will be deducted from this retainer. See below for further details. Please note that this may not cover the entire cleaning and/or repair fee depending on the condition of the dress returned.

If the dress is returned hairy, dirty, stained, or damaged, you will be responsible for the cost of basic cleaning, dry-cleaning and/or repair or replacement. Please do not dry clean yourself, we will do this.

This is automatically added to your cart when you visit Poppy Gowns. Please do not remove from your cart, if it is removed, we will reach out to you directly to purchase and to confirm your rental.

Please remove any hair/weeds/grass or anything that gets on the dress. Be mindful and try to return the dress in the state it was given to you. You do not need to wash or dry clean, we’ll do that for you. If you need to clean, you can spot clean with a wet, white dish towel and mild soap. If the dress is returned hairy, dirty, stained, and/or damaged, you will be responsible for the cost of basic cleaning, dry-cleaning or repair/replacement. 

If the dress is returned dirty we will charge the following fees:

  • Basic Cleaning Fee: $20+ (small cleaning)
  • Dry Cleaning Fee: $50 (grass stains, road stains, makeup, spray tans, etc.)
  • Red Dirt Dry Cleaning Fee: $75+ (Moab, Zion, Sedona, etc.)
  • Hair Removal: $20-50+ (horse, dog, cat, beard hair, etc. You can remove before you return or you will be charged the fee)

The dress is to be returned in the same condition it was received. Please inspect the dress upon receipt. If you see anything, send us a photo ASAP, via poppygowns@gmail.com or DM us on Instagram @poppygowns. You are responsible for the repair or replacement fee when returned.

  • Basic String Unravel: $10+
  • Rip/Tear/Holes: $30+
  • Damaged Beyond Repair: You will be responsible for a whole dress replacement ($300+)

NO sparklers or smoke bombs (they burn holes and permanently stain the dress – requiring a full dress replacement)

If the dress happens to get wet, please be mindful as the dress gets very heavy and is easy to rip. Our dresses are not recommend in ocean currents or waves,  rivers, or pools and/or hot tubs as these chemicals can damage the dresses. If your dress gets wet, hang dress up on a hanger to air dry immediately after your shoot. That way you can ship a dry dress the next day. If your dress is sandy, shake out the dress when it is dried – a wet dress is too heavy and may rip. Please reach out for specific tips and limitations.
